Well matured Ivy mounted on a hardwood base,these two pieces are completely natural in colour and shape and were made for each other.
The base was rescued wood and the Ivy was waiting for some time for just the right piece and embodies the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi.

This beautiful piece has those elements of wabi -sabi about it. The base was originally intended for burning and was rescued from a log pile.
The tendrils of well matured Ivy had been waiting for some time for just the right piece. When joined they compliment each other perfectly, creating a unique sculpture.
The wood used in this creation is responsibly sourced and specially chosen for its shape and character. Any variations in colour are due to natural processes.
After the bark is removed it is stored for some time then tested for dryness.
When the wood is seasoned it is then shaped, filed and sanded. Burnishing the wood gives it that smooth feel before the final touch of a natural beeswax polish for a gentle long- lasting sheen.
